iPray Request

By Gib@CBO

On July 10th of this year, my Sweet Hubby was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer which has already spread to his liver. Many of you may know that pancreatic cancer is the deadliest cancer diagnosis one can receive. It is an insidious disease and a lot of times the symptoms are so vague that they are easily passed off as something else, so that by the time the cancer is discovered it has already spread to other organs.

My sweetie has had a rough time of it.  In the short time since his diagnosis, he has received 14 units of blood. He has received 8 of those just this past week. He was readmitted to the hospital this past Friday morning and I’ll be honest - I truly thought I was going to lose him this time. But praise God - we are going home today! Some things will be different: we will be living on the first floor of our home as my Sweet Hubby will no longer be able to negotiate the stairs to our bedroom and he will be confined to a wheelchair as he is too weak and is retaining too much fluid to walk on his own. BUT - we are together and that’s all that matters!

His oncologist went ahead and repeated his CT scan since he was already hospitalized (they weren’t going to repeat it until the next round of chemo was complete - about 3 weeks from now). Unfortunately, it does not appear that the cancer has responded well to the first round; in fact, it appears that there are some new areas since the scan in July. BUT - we know that we serve the Great Physician and that ALL things are possible with God. So, I ask for your prayers. If it is the Lord’s will, I ask for healing for my Sweet Hubby. And if it’s His will to call my precious husband home, then I ask that my hubby not suffer.

This man is the love of my life. I am so grateful that he is my husband and I thank God for every day I have him with me. Thank you for keeping my Sweet Hubby, Steve, lifted up in prayer.

Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that! My husband’s father died from pancreatic cancer in 2004 and I can tell you it is a horrible disease. I pray God’s blessings and his healing hands on your hubby and the advancement of medical science to find a way to treat and cure this terrible cancer.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
